The Oklahoma Room showcase scheduled for the 29th Annual Folk Alliance International Conference comes to Muskogee, Ok for a fundraiser to fund the event in Kansas City.  Featured for the Muskogee show is Harumph, Jacob Tovar, Beau Roberson, Robert Hoefling, Erin O'Dowd, Dylan Stewart, and Chris Lee Becker.  Doors open at 6:30pm. The schedule for the evening is looking like this: 7:30 – 8:30 – Songwriter in the round – Robert Hoefling, Erin O'Dowd, Dylan Stewart 8:30 – 9:30 – Jacob Tovar, Beau Roberson, Chris Lee Becker  9:30 – 10:30 – Harumph 10:30 – 11:00 – Group Family Jam At least twenty-one of Oklahoma’s most respected independent Folk & Roots artists will showcase their talent at the 29th Annual Folk Alliance International Conference in February in Kansas City, Mo.   “The Oklahoma Room” is a four-day private showcase at the conference, spearheaded by Brian Horton, president of the non-profit Horton Records, Scott Aycock, co-host of “Folk Salad” radio show on KWGS 89.5 FM, Deana McCloud, executive director of the Woody Guthrie Center, and music industry veteran and talent manager Larry White.   “This will be the fourth year for The Oklahoma Room, which has become one of the highlights of this music conference,” Horton said.  “.  The community vibe between the musicians in our state combined with their tremendous individual talent is something that really stands out compared to many other scenes.  You can’t help but have a good time when you visit The Oklahoma Room.”   Musicians that have been confirmed to perform in the Oklahoma Room 718 include: Travis Linville, Jesse Aycock, Wink Burcham, Jacob Tovar, Paul Benjaman, Kyle Reid, Beau Roberson of Pilgrim, Chris Lee Becker, Scott Aycock, Levi Parham, John Calvin Abney, Cody Brewer of Grazzhopper, George Barton, Desi and Cody, Steve Liddell, Kalyn Fay, Annie Oakley, Andy Adams, Don Morris, Carter Sampson, Dan Martin, and Susan Herndon.   The International Folk Alliance conference is one of the five largest music conferences in North America, an annual event that draws together music industry professionals from throughout the world to share ideas, network, and celebrate traditional music and dance.  The first conference was held in 1989 in Malibu, Calif., and will be held in Kansas City through 2018.  Ticket and registration information is available here.   The Oklahoma Room is sponsored by Horton Records, Woody Guthrie Center, Folk Salad Radio, Oklahoma Film & Music Office, Tulsa Office of Film, Music, Arts & Culture, Marshall Brewing Company, Lambrusco’z, Integriteez, and idTulsa, with the generous support of George Kaiser Family Foundation.   Updates will be shared on The Oklahoma Room Facebook event page, @OklahomaRoom on Twitter, and @TheOklahomaRoom on Instagram.  For more information about Folk Alliance International, visit www.folkalliance.org.    Fundraisers planned   People can help support “The Oklahoma Room” artists by attending one of the fundraising events listed below.  Proceeds will help cover costs related to travel, lodging, and registration fees.  If you are unable to attend one of the fundraiser events, you can still make a tax deductible contribution by clicking the “Donate” button at the bottom of the home page on the Horton Records website.  You can also make a contribution over the phone via credit card or check by contacting hortonrecords@gmail.com .      For more information contact Brian Horton at hortonrecords@gmail.com
